What is EPP?
The Extensible Provisioning Protocol
EPP is used in the communication between a domain registrar and various domain registries to manage domains and their associated objects (e.g. people and organizations). Specified in XML, it was finalized in 2004 by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and is steadily being implemented by many top-level domain registries.
EPP and you
EPP was designed to meet the modern requirements of domain management. The protocol is robust and secure, and able to handle the tremendous increase in domain name registrations. Registrars have taken to the flexibility of EPP; using our EppClient API, this technology can be seamlessly integrated into a local business system allowing easier automation of custom applications. If your business has simpler needs, the EppClient web client might be the better choice, letting you simply log in to perform registrar tasks - no custom development necessary.
